Martin Kaymer to play season 2013 in US

Last week, it was announced that former world number one golf player Martin Kaymer will be a part of the 2013 PGA tour. The German golfer has also been eligible to be a PGA Tour member as he won PGA Championship in 2010 at the Whistling Straits. In spite of his 10 European Tour wins, he would be officially considered as a rookie.

Other European players Nicolas Colsaerts of Belgium, Peter Hanson of Sewden and David Lynn of England will also join him on the event. Peter and Nicolas earned their cards because of the money earned on PGA Tour events. England’s David qualified because of his 2nd place finish at the USPGA Championship this year.
They, along with other golf players like Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell and Justin Rose, will spent the 2013 season between American and European tours.

All twenty five top ranked golfers are now the members of the PGA Tour; and this has led concerns to the speculation that European golf tours is now have less talent as more golfers are heading towards the United States to seek their fortunes.

George O’Grady, the chief executive of European Tour, told that they are concerned about the whole thing. He added that Lee Westwood could go home to Worksop from Dubai and conceivably not hit a shot because of the weather. Westwood explained to him that he wants to snatch a major win.

At present Italy’s Francesco Molinari and Scotland’s Paul Lawrie are the only two full time player in the European Tour.
